I am trying to create a quasi-priming procedure with different types of images. The image files were all jpg to begin with, and I changed them into .bmp format by going through properties. I also resized them to be 640X480 or smaller. The images open fine in other programs such as Microsoft Office Picture Manager, but only display as text names in DirectRT when I run the input file.
I created a "stim" folder with a few sample pictures and created picture lists corresponding to them (e.g., negpics.txt, pospics.txt, etc.). Inside the text files, I have listed the names of the images (e.g., if the image is 6410.bmp, I have written "6410" in the text file). Everything is saved in the DirectRT folder in the following location on my computer: C:\DirectRT\Persuasion Study 2.2.08. Could where the files are located on the computer be playing a role in the dysfunctioning of the procedure? Or, perhaps it has something to do with the formatting of the images?
Attached is an example of a stimulus picture, a text file, and the input file.
Thank you,
Tina
