The short of it:
What is the syntax for specifying COM1 both in TTL I/O test and within a script?
I am experimenting with the trial version of DirectRT v2012 - I want to make sure that I can send out ascii characters (1 at a time) through the serial port (COM1) within a script. I have tested the TTL /I/O test - not sure if the response is correct - not sure how to specify COM1 - the documentation states I can inpout the decimal value of the port address associated with the I./O port - COM1 is at 03F8H - which is 1016 decimal. When I enter this as the port address, directRT responds with:
Port 1016 = 255. . if I enter the port address as: (COM1:03F8H), the system responds with:
Port 0 = the value I speficy for the Byte Value.
But in both cases, the output doesn't appear to go out through the COM1 - as I connect it to a remote PC connected properly via the serial ports.
