I shot some wide-screen videos with a Sony hard-drive camcorder, which saves the clips in MPEG format. The video dimensions would not display in the file list in Windows XP, but a video editing program indicated that they are 780 x 404. Windows Media Player plays them, but not without intermittent pauses. The image is crystal clear, but I think the large file size slows it down. These files will not play within Direct RT in their original format, but I converted them to WMVs, and they work fine. The resolution isn't as crisp after conversion, but it's certainly as clear as a video taken on digital video-tape and then saved onto a hard drive. Blair and I tried to get the original MPEGs to work but could not find a solution at present. If anyone else has encountered the same problem and figured out a way to play the original MPEGs in DirectRT, please let us know.
