how do i present Hebrew characters? (case 20290)

    Hello all,

We are currently using Directrt in its final version, and would like to present subjects with a non-English, Hebrew characters. Fallowing the instructions provided in the user guide, we tried to change the fonts and edit the preferences, however, the software keeps presenting Hebrew fonts in gibberish.

Can you think of any solution for this problem?

    Thanks.

How exactly were you trying to incorporate the Hebrew text into DirectRT? For example, were you trying to use text stimuli directly in the .csv input file?

If you can upload a copy of your DirectRT .csv input file and an example of any files with Hebrew text you might have had in a stim folder, I'd be happy to look at them and let you know what I think.

    Hi Jason,
yes, the problem occur's when we fill in the 'Stim' column with ''~'' + Hebrew characters. Not surprisingly, Hebrew characters appears on the excel sheet, but are changed to Gibberish when we run the experiment. we have changed the fonts in the style file to Hebrew supporting fonts and still no luck.

Have you tried running your DirectRT on a Hebrew version of Windows (as opposed to an English-based version of Windows)?

You could also create image files of the Hebrew text and DirectRT should be able to properly display the image files.
