Random image file errors during a Lexicon Decision Task (case 19670)

Prior to the showing of a word ?Z? or non-word ?/? a cross is presented in the middle of the screen to indicate where the word (or non-word) will shortly appear. The error is occurring with the cross stimulus. In the stim column the cross is identified as ?cross_centered? for all trails. The cross always appears however sometimes it appears twice (instead of once) during a single trail. Randomly on some trails the cross will flash very quickly right before it is presented for the indicated amount of time (500). As I mentioned the trails are all similar in the input file so I do not know the cause of this issue. If I run the input file twice, the cross error will occur on different trails. Potentially suggesting that it is an error with Direct RT and not my input file. However when I run a stroop task on the same laptop (with a similar cross) the error never occurs. Any insight into this issue would be greatly appreciated. Please let me know if you need any clarification into what the issue is.
