Getting rid of messages that pop up?

We have a screen where we'd like to give subjects 10 seconds to make a decision. Ideally, if they do not make a decision in that 10 seconds, the program will just move on to the next screen. Now though, if a decision hasn't been made in 10 seconds, there's a pop-up message indicating that a decision must be made, and the program won't move on until the subject chooses something.
Is there a way to get rid of these pop-up messages, letting the subject not respond if they don't want to?

How can I make a response to an item in a questionnaire file NOT required -- that is, so the "it would be ideal if..." box does not pop up and MediaLab accepts a blank response?

Check out the section in the manual on "messages.txt" and "substitute.txt" (in the section regarding Preferences). Change the message to a set of empty quotes "" and MediaLab will not deliver any message at that point.
