Thread: Problem with incorrect file types (case 13902)

Problem with incorrect file types (case 13902)

On two different computers, the program worked successfully for several participants. Then both ended up tripping up on different parts of the program with different error signals.

On one computer the signal said that the exp file called practice_directrt was a "bad file name or type." On another computer the error said that the file was ?incorrect file type?. It said that I needed to change the file to the appropriate three-letter format when it ran the exp file called file1.
I am not sure what these things and I don?t understand why it only starts giving me these errors after the program has successfully ran without an issue previously.

The files for the program are attached.

    Thanks!

After looking at the files you uploaded (very helpful, by the way), I'd like to see the other .que files that you have in your .exp file, namely the Instructions.que, practice_directRT.que, file1.que, and UWES.que. Also, can you please upload the styles file you use with your DirectRT input file?

No problem. I am not sure what you mean by the style files. Attached are the rest of the files for the program (sorry I thought I uploaded all of these). Let me know if anything is missing.

    Thanks!

The styles file is named styles.drt and will either be one that you have saved in the same folder as your other DirectRT files or will be the default one that resides in the DirectRT program folder. Please send it when you get the chance.

Your "practice_directRT.que" file uses the full pathway name and one folder in it also ends in an exclamation mark. I don't know if using the exclamation mark may cause some problems, but I would definitely see if putting all of your DirectRT and MediaLab files in the same file folder and using the relative pathway name of just the .csv DirectRT input file in the file name field of your DirectRT item in the .que file may get things to work.

I did not see any styles.drt file attached to you last forum post. Could you please try to upload it again or send it directly to me at support@empirisoft.com?
