MediaLab won't link to DirectRT (case 8701)

Medialab won't bring up linked DirectRT file in version 2010.3. I have tried the same MediaLab experiment using a newer version of the software and it works fine. The problem is that my lab only has version 2010.3. Is there a way to fix this problem or do we need to contact someone about an upgrade?

    Thanks.

    Hi cac546,

I'm sorry to hear that you are having trouble running DirectRT in conjunction with MediaLab. I assume that you are using a DirectRT item within a MediaLab questionnaire and that is the item that won't run. If so, please describe in more detail the kind of error that occurs. Does the program freeze? Does it go to a particular kind of screen? Is there an error message that appears? Any such information will help me figure out what the best solution would be.

You also say that using a newer version of the software makes everything work fine. Were you referring to MediaLab 2012 or DirectRT 2012?

    MediaLab won't run DirectRT

    Hey Jason,

I've been having a similar problem as well. I have DirectRT in a number of questionnaires set up in my computer, but when the questionnaire comes to the DirectRT portion, it just shows a blank, purple screen. I've tried changing things around and making them work, but I haven't been able to get MediaLab to run DirectRT. I've run the .csv in DirectRT and it works find. I've also tried running a few past studies that have worked in the past, but those don't seem to be working either. What do you think the issue is?

    Thanks

    Hi fisher.1015:

What versions (e.g., ver20xx.x.xx) of MediaLab and DirectRT are you using?

I believe it is version 2010.1.15.

Is that for both MediaLab and DirectRT?

    Medialab is 2010.1.15
    DirectRT is 2012.4.0.135

I assume the difference could be an issue, but I have run a different task that worked previously with both programs, but won't run anymore.

Please try upgrading your version of MediaLab to version 2010.3.102. You can download it here:

Will the upgrade affect any of the previous experiments we have developed previously?

You should be able to run any files created in a previous version of the software. That being said, it's always a good idea to backup your files on a different computer or storage device.
