Run an experiment from a server (case 5396)

Is there a way to run an experiment from a cloud server, or would I be limited to a network drive?

Hi kmorowsky. What's your goal in running from the cloud? Are you hoping to have access to the resulting data remotely, or is that you wish to run the study on computers to which you'll have no physical access? If it's the former, I think I can help.

Are you familiar with a program called Dropbox? It offers up to 5GB of free cloud storage, which should be enough to run an experiment and store the resulting data. If you installed Dropbox on each computer on which you wanted to run the study, you could then put your experiment file in Dropbox as well. You'd be then be able to access your data from any internet-connected computer just by logging on to Dropbox.

Hope that helps. If that sounds appealing but you're not sure how to set it up, please let me know and I'd be happy to provide a more detailed set of instructions.
