For our experiment, we would like for our subjects (4-year-old children) to be able to make their selections by clicking on a picture or drawing rather than a word. Is there any way to put a picture file rather than text as a selection "button"?

Unzip the Sample2 folder located here:
C:\MediaLab\Samples\Sample2.zip
And then take a look at the last item in the scale responses.que questionnaire. The final item demonstrates how to use html for response options so you can have pretty much anything you like in place of words--pictures, animations, links, popups, spoken versions of the options upon clicking and that sort of thing. This particular sample uses images.
A simple HTML sample is attached for those who are daunted! Simply unzip the attached file and open it in any text editor like notepad.exe. Replace the name of the image (1.gif) with your own image file name and voila!
