End of experiment message (case 484)

Is there a way to change the end of experiment message. I have way too many people doing studies at the same time to have each one tell me individually that they are done. Instead I'd like to replace it with instructions.

Hi Andrew. The best method I've found is to insert an instruction item at the end of my study that requires a password (using the x attribute). Then you can just have it say whatever you'd like to the participants, and they won't be able to click through to end. Just enter the password after the participant leaves to close out the experiment.

    Hope that helps!

how to change only the text with no password

    Dear andrewlong,

If you simply want to change the text without using a password, go into the “Medialab” folder on your computer and look for the “Styles” folder. Either find or create a text file named “substitute.txt. Open that file and copy the following message.

106,"Please inform the experimenter that you have completed this portion of the session", end of session

with whatever new text you want inserted between the quotation marks.
You can find the instructions in the Modify Message Text subsection of Section 8 Preferences and Options part of the MediaLab Manual (p. 81 of the pdf file).

    Cheers!
