    SPEED issues

    Hi,

I am running a threat detection task on DirectRT. Here is a sample row of the input file:

block trial bgr wgr style stim loc time
    1 1 0 0 1 3X3FSpT1 0,0,1 rt:any
As you may be aware by now, the stim is a picture. There are 144 trials (meaning 144 rows that repeat the above row) with only the trial number and stim name changing in the 144 trials. The resolution of these 144 images are 800 by 533. The Style editor has screen resolution at 960 by 600 for DirectRT. My question is this, I run this 144 trial input file on DirectRT and yes it works and i can see all the 144 stimuli, however when I enter the participant number and condition number, it takes about 25-30 seconds for the experiment to start running. How can I reduce this time. It is too long a waiting time, since I have been told that these programs are meant to run fast. Is there something I can do on my end to reduce the 25-30 seconds for the start of the experiment. I really want to get it down to 4-5 seconds max.

    Thanks
    Manny
