    Recording Reaction Time of Speaker

I am running a program where the subject speaks into a microphone and their voice and length of time spoken (reaction time) is recorded. The problem is the audio records fine, but the reaction time in the log records beginning when the slide shows up on the monitor until the person begins to speak. I need the reaction time to record just the time whe the person speaks. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Do you mean that you want to know the amount of time they were speaking? If so, there is not really an automatic way of doing that. You could look at the length of the trial and subtract the RT, or you could manually pull out the RT by looking at the wave files in a freeware program like Audacity (see www.audacity.com). Let me know if you need more information regarding either of those two options.
