Interface with a third-party IO Card

    [edited from a support email]

I am trying to use DirectRT with my EEG equipment (NeuroScan
SynAmps2). I would like to send TTL triggers from DirectRT through an
8-bit port on a PIO24 card, rather than through LPT1. Do you know if
this is possible, and if so, how I can do it?

The best answer I can give you right now is 'maybe,' since I'm not familiar
    with that particular card.

In general, DirectRT is set up to send values back and forth to ports which have a physical hardware address.

For example, the output register of the parallel port usually lives at 0x378 (hex). So it's easy to write a DirectRT script which will send and receive byte values through that port.

Does your PIO24 card appear in the windows device manager? If it does, can you dig around and see if it has a particular address?

The particular card in question does indeed have a physical address, and we're working to get an experiment running smoothly.
