    iolabs button box

I have a button box from a colleague that I'm wondering whether I can use with directRT. It's an iolabs button box (http://www.iolab.co.uk/index.html). Can anyone tell me whether this is compatible with directRT and if so, how to determine the response codes associated with each key? Thanks so much!

John is our resident hardware engineer, but a quick look at their web site reveals:
How many input/output lines does the response box have?
Primary input is by 8 interrupt driven TTL lines. There are 16 auxiliary TTL output lines of which 8 can be configured as inputs. The Voice Key and an Optical Key can both be reconfigured for standard input.
Which makes it seem that it send signals via TTL. There is a section in the DirectRT user's guide on TTL signals and you can search on "TTL" in these forums to turn up lots of stuff. Bottom line though is that anything that sends response info to the system via TTL can generally work with both DirectRT and MediaLab. It will help you much to know though what TTL signals the box will be sending.

And of course, I'd be daft not to at least put a word in for our USB plug and play millisecond accurate keyboards and button boxes with simple alpha/numeric input that appears to the OS (and hence pretty much ANY software) as if they were coming from a regular keyboard. Only difference is that the signals get to the OS super super super fast

    See www.empirisoft.com/hardware.aspx for more detail.

ps., and yes, my apologies for the blatant and shameless plug
