    [solved] administrator rights needed?

I have a lab of 18 PCs running DirectRT 2010.74.128.10, Windows 7 with DirectX11. The PCs are also running MediaLab 2008.1.33. I have inherited the support of this lab so I'm a newbie with this software.

With a "user" ID, I am unable to start DirectRT. The directrt.exe and launcheradmin.exe appear to pop up alternately in Task Manager, but nothing opens. Giving the "user" ID full rights to the DirectRT directory doesn't nothing.

With the "adminstrator" ID, I am able to run DirectRT with no problem. When I give the "user" ID local adminstrator rights, it is able to run DirectRT as well.

Am I running the wrong version for Windows 7? If I need to install a different version, am I covered by my current license (I'm assuming I would need to request new activation codes)? I'm not sure if this version was ever run successfully on these machines as they were setup before I inherited them.

Yes, first step would be to uninstall it since it's a beta and install the non-beta (currently v2010.2.103 as of today, Feb 8, 2011). It's on the main download page now. Want to see if that fixes it? Also, MediaLab v2010 is posted now so if you are licensed for that, I would suggest installing that on your Windows 7 machines also as it's more compatible than prior versions.

Thanks, that appears to have fixed it!
