    Help with non-English characters

    Hi!
    I am trying to prepare an experiment via the Direct RT which will be in Turkish, and we have letters in our alphabet that are not recognized by the programme, such as ı,ğ,ü,ş,ö, and ç. I need to use these letters in order to give stimuli but the programme generates wierd symbols instead of these characters. I would really appreacite any ideas how to get around this.
    Many thanks!!

    Up to version 2008, DirectRT has not supported some foreign characters like this. It has worked in some regions when the native version of Windows is used (e.g., are you using the Turkish version of Windows?). This question has come up before, e.g., please see also: http://www.empirisoft.com/support/showthread.php?t=1192

    This issue may also be resolved in v2010, but not likely until an update sometime next year. The solution will involve allowing the use of native XLS files for input as opposed to the more limited .CSV file format.

    Hope that helps,
    Blair

    testing... thoughts ;

    Yeah -- it seems .CSV files have a limitation with character input. I think we might be able to provide a simple and quick fix into the 2010 version of the software to migrate this request into a more immediate solution; however, if it doesn't work out, as I've imagined, we may have to wait until the addition of .XLS support. Regardless, we'll check into it.
