Sound stimulus plus recorded voice response?

    [edited from support email]

Is it possible to "stop" a voice recording timer, with a button press? If yes, how? (For example, I want DirectRT to record a voice response for a maximum period of time, but I want a button press to stop the timer and move on to the next trial if the subject is done before the timer ends).

Also, is it possible to present a sound stimulus and record a voice response for it? If yes, how?

For stopping a voice recording, see:

As for presenting sound and taking a voice RT, yes you can do this with most systems (some old sounds card can not handle two-way, or full-duplex sound). You will usually have to have subjects wearing headphones though so that the sound stimulus doesn't trigger the RT.
