    Error message: the variable is numeric but stored as string

    I have put together an experiment made up of 25 word documents and que questionnaires. At the end of the experiment this message shows up: ''the variable V004 is numeric but is stored in the SPSS file as string. It will be converted to a string to match the existing data file''. There are also similar messages for V002 and V003

    I am clueless on how to rectify the problem. I have named all variables, there is none named V002-4.
    I welcome comments on how to solve this problem.

    Hm - First, I would recommend trying the following:
    1. Back up your data.
    2. Once the data has been backed up, try deleting the original data folder.
    3. Run the experiment again and see if the errors still arise.
