    File limits in MediaLab

    [edited from support email]

What is the limit of the number of fields that a record may contain in MediaLab?
What software is the actual database in?

The questionnaire and experiment files are actually little Access (.mdb) databases. In fact you can open them and edit them in Access if you like. Just be sure to NOT convert the database to a newer version of Access if prompted (and you probably will be prompted when you open it). Also, you won't have to save the changes you make as Access does this automatically as you edit the file.

As far as I know there isn't any practical limit to the number of records in a file. However, after 500-1000 items, things can start slowing down if you have an older system.
