Measuing the length of stay in reading an article

I am going to measure the length of stay in reading a specific article. For example, I will present online news magazine, and measure how long participants will read each article in the news magazine web page. Can MediaLab support to measure the length of stay if I present survey page using customized format (HTML)? If so, how can set parameter?

Is the order and number of pages fixed or are they able to browse about freely via hyperlinks?

    Two levels of pages

I will design it with two level hyperhinks.
First level page: the list of articles (title, brief description)
Second level page, the body of an article and the list of articles that participants can go back to the first level page.

So, the participants read through the list of articles, and they click one article to read it. After clicking it, the body of article will be presented. After or while reading the article, they can select other articles by clicking links of articles list below the article body.

If you want to track some back-and-forth browsing like that, you can use MediaLab's WebTracker item type (otherwise I would have suggested using the simpler HTML item type).

    For an overview, see http://www.empirisoft.com/Support/showthread.php?t=423

Or do a quick search on "webtracker" for other related posts that might help.
