It can't multi-task when doing a voice recording. If a voice RT is in progress, the remainder of the trial has to wait until the RT and/or recording of the audio response is complete. Basically, the program enters a special set of algorithms for audio recording/RTs and doesn't come out until it's finished. I believe the only exception is that you can simultaneously monitor for a single keypress.
