    Self-paced reading

I'm considering using DirectRT for psycholinguistic work. I'd like to know if there is any way to set up a moving window self-paced reading task. There are two issues as I see it - one in the set up of the stimuli, since one wants to be able to break down sentences into chunks in a simple manner. For example, is there a way to use stimuli broken down as follows:

    1. In three minutes / the dog / climbed / the tree.
    2. For three minutes / the dog / climbed / the tree.

Second is the question of whether the program can smoothly handle the moving window aspect, such that when the subject sees "the dog" it will be in a position to the right of where "in three minutes" was, with placeholder symbols for what has already been seen and what is to come.

    Thanks!

    Moving Window

A long while back we produced a MovingWindow program for this kind of task. We don't support it anymore, mainly because it's been so long since we developed it (2005?). *But* we do now make it freely available to anyone with a current DirectRT license. So feel free to try it out, here are the links you'll need. You will also need a code, but it will explain that when you try to run it.

Let me know if you have any trouble,
