How do I play sounds of variable length to completion without having to put the time value for each trial independently. I've tried rt:full but it plays the first sound and then doesn't do anything else.

DirectRT can not detect the duration of the content of the sound file, so you do have to enter the duration manually. Try a board search on "audacity" for tips on how to look at the content of a sound file with a high degree of precision.
