custom item not working

Hi,
I am working on a custom item which is an anagram task, which is supposed to automatically quit after a certain amount of time. It was working well, until I added an additional anagram with extra input spaces, and now instead of exiting the questionnaire, it goes back to the start of the page, into an infinite loop. it starts doing that as soon as I add any additional variables.

I am attaching the two custom files, as well as the matching questionnaires (which are identical except for the html name) - one with the custom item working properly, and the next one with the extra anagrams which do not work. When I tried the same files on a different computer (with a smaller screen), both files do not work, but when I removed another set of anagrams, it does work.

There is one other thing that I can't get to work - in the custom item, I have a link to a bookmark further down on the page (using <a href "#_">) around a button - so clicking on a button is supposed to take the participant to another spot lower on the page. When I test the custom item as a webpage it works, but when I run it in medialab it doesn't. Any help on this would also be appreciated.
