Rachel--which version of Windows 7 is installed on your lab machines--Home Premium, Professional, or Ultimate?
Also, is this 32-bit or 64-bit?
To see if your computer is running a 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows, do the following:

Open System by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Security, and then clicking System.
Under System, you can view the system type.
Perhaps the easiest way to deal with this would be to do a remote support session--let's try to arrange this via email and see if we can figure out why it works on XP but not Windows 7. I know we've tried the experiment many times here on one of our Windows 7 machines and can't get it to crash so I'm wondering if it has to do with the version of Windows 7, the hardware involved, or perhaps with some concurrently running software.

More windows 7 issues
Hi there,
I am part of a team running a 2 hour long experiment with numerous questionnaires and backsounds. I am having the same problem of Medialab crashing part way in, around the same spot. I'm running on Windows 7. I have also run the experiment on an XP machine and a Vista machine, without these problems.
We are about to purchase machines to run these experiments and am wondering what the best OS is going to be to prevent these crashes? Also, is there any minimal processing speed required?
Do you have any idea when Medialab will be compatible with Windows 7?
Thanks,
Laura

Is it version 2008.1.33 of MediaLab that you are running on your XP, Vista and 7 machines? Also, can you confirm that it is after approximately 150 items or so that ML crashes on Windows 7?
-
Yes it is version 2008 1.33 and yes ML crashes around 150 items in. We have our questionnaires randomized so it is usually at a different spot each time but it is at a similar time point into the experiment.
Thanks,
Laura

We are focusing on this right now but in the mean time, I want to add that this may be fixed in Vista but not yet in Windows 7.. See:

Looks like we maybe have a fix for Vista and Windows 7. Please feel free to post feedback here if you find the new install package resolves the issue for you.
