Data not lining up

In the study I'm helping to run, there are small anomalies in the subject numbers between the excel file and the open-ended response text files. For example, the excel file has subject 123 but the text file doesn't. But the text file has subject 118 and the excel file doesn't. Oddly, they're both placed in the same spot in the data in respect to surrounding data. They also both have the same condition variable. Is there any way that they're actually the same subject but somehow the excel and text files got assigned different subject numbers for this particular subject?
