Problems with responses.xls file (case 25302)

I'm having trouble getting participants' previous responses to appear in follow-up questions. Would it be possible for you to review the attached .que and responses files and see if there is something I'm doing incorrectly?responses.xlsTEST.que

    Hi there,

If I'm not mistaken, we dealt with and solved this exact problem before here in this thread:

    http://www.empirisoft.com/support/sh...ighlight=cam15

The solution there seemed to be using names for the items in the responses.xls file with the Excel formulas with the text that are different from any of the item names in the .que file. Did you try that yet with the current files?

Response to feedback from previous thread

    Hi Jason,

If you take a look at the responses.xls file I attached, I do have the variables names and equations in the file.

The TOBdsm11a is the first question. The items TOBdsm11a_01 through TOBdsm11a_07 are the response options, which are coded '0' and '1' in the output. The new variable names are TOBdsm11a01 through TOBdsm11a07, which have the equations in the "value" column.

The second question is similar, with ALCdsm11a the original question, ALCdsm11a_01 through ALCdsm11a_09 as response options, and ALCdsm11a01 through ALCdsm11a09 as the variables with equations to display the answer.

I copied the previous version of this questionnaire's responses.xls and edited it for this questionnaire so I'm not sure where I'm going wrong here.

When I said different names, I meant using names in the responses.xls file that are completely different than anything item names from the .que file. For example, instead of TOBdsm11a01 use a name like new1 or a1. Did you try that yet? I ask because it seemed to work that way the first time we encountered this issue.

I changed the variable names to ones that were not similar to those previously used and the files are now working properly. Thanks for the help!
