Issues with "responses" excel sheet not working (case 20771)

    Hello,

I am trying to calculate an average for 8 questions. If the average is >3.5 I want it to skip to a question "surelikenon". If it is <3.5 I want it to skip to a question "suredisnon". Similarly there is a "surelikenorm" and a "suredisnorm" depending on a simple skip that did not require an average earlier.

It seems like no matter what the average is, it is skipping to "surelikenon" or "surelikenorm". This results in the incorrect feedback being given to the respondent. I am unsure why this is occurring. I'm assuming I did something wrong with my excel file. Any suggestions?

    Thank you for your help

When using calculated scores to tell the responses.xls file to skip to variables, you should place the calculated variable in a row of the responses.xls where it will not come after the variables you need to skip to. In your case, you need to put the calculated scores right after the last variable that goes into the calculated scores so that the responses.xls file can do the calculation, pick the appropriate variable, and then send that variable name to MediaLab and the .que file it ran. Try using the attached responses.xls file and see if it achieves the desired effect.

Thank you for your help. I tried the new "responses" file and I'm encountering the same issue. It seems like "surelikenon" is displayed every time no matter what values I enter when testing it and "suredisnon" never is displayed.

Is my "responses" excel file perhaps in the wrong file? I've tried a lot of different combinations previously including how the excel file you attached is. I've also tried the excel sheet in different folders and I keep running into the same problem.

Any other advise? We are supposed to be in schools running the survey in less than two weeks and I still can't get the spreadsheet to work with the rest of the survey properly. Basically the responses sheet is calculating correctly but whether "surelikenon" or "suredisnon" are displayed depends on which I put first in the actual .que file. If I switch them then the other appears regardless of the calculated score.
