Selecting a subset of randomized items (case 19907)

I used the BGR column in the questionnaire file to define five 'groups' for randomization . The randomization seems to work. My question is how can I show only three of these five groups (randomly) and then move on to the next no-random item in the questionnaire.

Take a look at the attached file. It has five pairs of items, each with the same positive nonzero integer. There is also an an item with an active 'skip to' field-Instruction type in this case-and nothing in its wgr or bgr fields after the last item of the third group. MediaLab will randomly present 3 of the 5 groups and then proceed to the one item with the skip to field. If you put the name of the very last item in the .que file-"end" in this example-MediaLab will then skip over the two pairs of items not randomly presented.

    Hello Jason,

sorry I don't quite understand. Let me consider this example: what if during randomization media lab selects the groups one, four and two?

How will it know it is not suppose to select group three anymore?

Because you have just three of the five items with the same nonzero positive integer before the item that uses the skipto field, Medialab will only take three of the five possible choices and then have to skip to the last item in the .que file.
