    Images not displaying (case 15369)

I am unable to get my images to present for some reason. The next line is an example of the code:

    2 1 Encoding Encoding 0 1 1 001a .3,.3,1 0 001an .7,.3,0 rt:44 *

I am receiving the following error:

    Subject 1, 7/24/2014, 11:18:50 AM, v2012.4.166, Initial Display: 1366x768, 32-bit colour, 60hz or 16.67ms/screen

    Subject 1, 7/24/2014, 11:18:55 AM, Finished. 4 Errors/Warnings.

Though my stimulus appears to conform to the program requirements. I cannot seem to upload it here but here are the properties (which are reflective of all of the images I'm attempting to use):

    dimensions: 400x398
    Bit Depth: 24
    Name: 001a.bmp
    Item type: bitmap image
    size: 466kb

    The computer properties are:

    System: Windows 7
    Model: Latitude E6540
    4gb ram
    64bit operating system

    Direct RT Version: 2012.4.0.166

I can send samples of the images via email if that would help.
    Any help would be great!

As a first step, try changing all of your image files to 8 bit color depth. You can do this really easily and in a form that plays nice with DirectRT using a free program called IrfanView. You can download a copy at www.irfanview.com.

Once you download and install Irfanview, simply open your image in the software, select Image > Decrease Color Depth... from the main menu bar, select the button next to 256 Colors (8PP), and finally click OK to finalize the color bit conversion.

    That's done it, thanks.
Question, the program says it can handle images up to 24bit, is there a reason that an image would not work at that color depth? I'd just like to know for future reference when I am making stimuli. Is it a data size issue or are the particular programs which leave imprints that Direct RT doesn't like?

What happens if you use images that are 16 bit depth?

Haven't tried the 16bit version. The 8 bit versions are working. Thanks!
