Data Output - Sequential Ordering rather than alphabetized. (case 13159)

    Hi guys,

I just recently completed a study with MediaLabs and DirectRT. I just looked at the output file (byvariablename) and it contains all of the output items in alphabetical order, even though these items were actually asked last in the study.

Is there any way to have the output give you an excel spreadsheet with each participant but have the columns/items kept in the order they were asked via medialabs rather than alphabetical order?

    thanks!

    Bourbon,

You would have to create this kind of spreadsheet on your own using some the files that MediaLab does create. Most important would be a log file called question_order.csv in the ByQuestionnaire data folder. The first row is the order of files (i.e., from the .exp file) and the remaining rows are the question orders for each questionnaire in the order they actually occurred. The first column contains the Subject ID and the second column contains the condition number entered at the start of a session. There is also a time stamp written to verify the time at which each questionnaire was started. You should be able to take this information and use it to create a spreadsheet that reflects the order in which each of your participants received the different items in your MediaLab files.
