Trouble with TTLs appearing (case 10907)

    Hello,

I'm trying to send TTLs that are locked to two types of feedback messages. The feedback messages - "wrong" versus "correct" - call on a .txt file in my stimulus column (see attached .csv file). For some reason, the TTLs aren't showing up when I run our system. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that it's locked to a text file (i.e., #.txt file) as opposed to a basic message (i.e., ~ "message")? Is this an option in DirectRT?

I'm out of troubleshooting ideas, and any kind of help would be much appreciated!

    Cheers,

    Nick

Have you tried your file with the feedback stimuli replaced by something like just text stimuli to see if that file would work? Was there a specific reason that you wanted or needed to use text files to present your feedback?

    Thanks for getting back, Jason.

I'm not sure about the first part of your question. I looked it up in the tutorials, but I can't get access to the examples that are provided - not sure why?

I'm presenting my feedback as text files because I wanted the feedback messages to be a specific font, size, and color - different from the preceding stimuli within the trial. I'll continue playing around with it. Again, any help is much appreciated as I'm one day away from getting the study up and running.

    Nick,
I wanted you to try running your input file with everything the same except changing your feedback stimuli into something besides text files (i.e., using the # operator in the stim column). Even if the feedback messages are text in the stim cells (i.e. using the ~ operator), you can still give a unique font, size, and color to each message. Open the Styles file for your study and create however many individual styles you would like for your feedback messages. Then just reference the row number from the Styles file that you want to apply to the each text feedback by using <#> in the same stim cell as the feedback text. For example, you can type ~feedback 1 <1> in the stim cell to use style 1 to display the text "feedback1". This will trump whatever style you define in that row of your input file.
