    writedata not checked (case 9665)

    Hi All,

I'm looking at a data set in which the writedata toggle was not checked on one of the questionnaires. The toggle was eventually checked in order to write the data however, instead of inserting the column where it theoretically should be placed, the data for the latter subjects was shifted to the right without an identifier "header". Additionally, the instruction data "ok" was shifted to the last column of the new subjects row. Has anyone come across this and if so, how are the data shifted. I would assume that the program would simply add a column at the end of the row and the data would simply be added but I'm not certain if this is the case.

    Dear FloatingPoint,

It sounds like this is a case of MediaLab behaving as designed. Any new data recorded after the write data option was activated for some questionnaire items would be added to any existing data files. As a result, the combined data file will show some rows that are not lined up or labeled similarly to existing columns.

Are any of the data you gathered since activating that write data option missing? I would just like to make sure that data not lining up is the only issue that we are dealing with at this point.

Also, please feel free to attach a small data file that shows me exactly what is going on. I always find it helpful to see any examples that people are willing to share. If you would prefer to send it to me directly, you can send it to me at support@empirisoft.com.

    Cheers.
