Play sound+show fixation cross simultaneously (case 3253)

    Hello everyone,

is it possible to play a short beep sound while showing a fixation cross simultaneously?
It's possible to play two sounds at the same time, but didn't find anything about a sound picture pair (Manual: Play Sounds).

    Thank you!

    Combining Stimuli

Combining stimuli (such as audio and text) should largely be a matter of controlling the display details. Create one stimuli, and not tell the next screen to clear it, means the stimuli are presented together.

The critical "location" column in a DirectRT experiment is telling the program to do three important things: (1 &2) locate something at a certain location, x & y, (3) reset the screen FIRST, or don't. When the third value in that location (x, x, 0) is zero, the content of the prior screen carries over.

If you don't reset the screen, the stimuli just overlap. So if you set the two components back to back, set the display time for the first at zero and tell the second screen NOT to remove the prior screen, you'll have the two together.

I would recommend the image/text (fixation point) first, so the sound file does not get cut off abrubtly.
