We have had numerous freezing issues running MediaLab and have done the following tests to sort it out. In the tests, we used the 200 item questionnaire posted for testing of the former 150 item limit issue. All computers use ATI graphics cards.
- MediaLab v2008.1.33e (evideo.ocx 1.0.0.11) (latest release) running on Dell Optiplex 980 and Windows 7: program reliably freezes after item q067 every THIRD run. Replicated also with a different experiment file of many items and different conditions—again freezing in the same spot every third run.
- MediaLab v2008.1.33e (inc evideo.ocx 1.0.0.11) (latest release) running on HP DC7900 and Windows 7: program reliably freezes after item q067 every THIRD run.
- MediaLab older version from November 2008 (evideo.ocx says version 1.0.0.11) running on HP DC7900 and Windows XP: no problems.
- MediaLab v2008.1.33e (inc evideo.ocx 1.0.0.11) (latest release) running on HP DC7900 and Windows XP: program reliably freezes after item q067 every THIRD run.
- MediaLab older version from November 2008 (evideo.ocs says version 1.0.0.11) running on Dell Optiplex 980 and Windows 7: program reliably freezes after item q157 EVERY run (this appears to be the old bug popping up again in the older version).
Now, what STOPS the freezing is to quit out of and relaunch MediaLab between each run. In other words, relaunching stops the freezing that occurs every third run with the newest release. From this, it appears to be a version issue—but reverting to old versions combined with Windows 7 brings back a previous bug (150 item limit)—and not an issue with Windows 7 per se.
Any chance there is a solution in sight for this bug?
