Backsound & power point show using Vista

Hi, I am running an mp3 sound file as a backsound to a power point show. This worked fine on windows 7 (but I had other freezing issues also described on the forum) so switched to my lab computer running Vista. Now the sound will not play in unison with the pps - only after I escape from the slideshow. I have tried modifying the backsound as a que file and as an exp file and no luck. Suggestions!!???
    Thanks

Never heard of this before, not sure why it would be happening. I have a couple thoughts.. first what if you insert a blank instruction item just before the PowerPoint show, and place the background sound within that item--and add a (d1) duration parameter to that instruction item so it is automatically bypassed after 1 second (or maybe even (d0))? My other thought was to embed the mp3 within the PowerPoint show itself.
