    Attention Filter

    Hello there,

Has anyone successfully used attention filters (questions that ensure that participants have actually read and understood the instructions or are paying attention)?. I'm using Meyvis et al.'s Social Science Research Network paper as a model. I've created an html file (below saved as a .doc file so that I could upload it here) with the response items but when I enter it as the background it doesn't work.

Any ideas or templates already out there?

To be clear, are you trying to administer this file (or one like it) as an item within a questionnaire? e.g., Where the subject checks all that apply, clicks to continue and MediaLab records the checked vs. unchecked options?

    yes, something exactly like that!

yes, something like that. i want the instructions for the particular question to be rather long and/or complicated to ensure that they have to read the instructions in order to correctly answer the question. thanks!
