Make participant move slider before pressing "continue"

    Hi,

I am using a slider as a custom item, and I want to force the participant to move the slider before pressing "continue" to prevent them from accidentally advancing before giving their real response.

    Is this possible?

    Thanks.

Are you using the fancy new HTML slider item or the old slider that came with v2004?

Using the slider before you can press "continue"

    Me too!
I am using the revised version of the slider for 2008 (thank you) and would like to know how you prevent participants from advancing to the next trial if they haven't used the slider. It would be so helpful if you could post this, that continue button is so tempting for participants

    Thanks.

Do you have a sample that is working for you in all other respects? If you want to zip and post the que and html file, I'll take a look and see what I can do. In the meantime you might also want to check out:

Or do a general forum search on the term "validation".

here's the file, could you please look at it?

Everything is ready to go, just hoping the participants are not impatient with the big continue button in the middle of the screen. Is there any edits you could put into this file so that the participants can't just proceed without using this one slider on the screen?
    Thanks a million

Sorry I need the whole folder--at least that includes the que file and the javascript files so I can run the actual sample item you attached. Also--did you happen to look at the post regarding validation code? I think that's what you are looking for--e.g., see http://www.empirisoft.com/support/showthread.php?p=3632

here's all the code, and I'll keep looking through those threads in hopes of a solution. I realize this is not a medialab issue and thanks for all your help.
