    Timed instruction with automatic continuation

    [edited from support email]

I set up an instructions file that states "Please eat your breakfast now. You will be signaled in 15 minutes for your next set of rating."
    1. I would like the participant to see this screen for 15 minutes, along with a timer bar (or clock) that counts down the elapsed time for them.
    2. After 15 minutes has elapsed, I would like the next item to automatically appear, without the participant needing to click on Continue.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.

You can do this by making the instruction into its own self-contained questionnaire (.que file). Then, in your experiment (.exp file), add the parameter (d-900) when lisiting this questionnaire. That will cause it to be onscreen for 900 seconds and the negative sign will cause it to be timed via a countdown timer. Hint.. You can use ctrl+right arrow to skip out of the item when running it as a test.

    Hope that helps,
    Blair
