    Calling Visual Basic (Excel)

    Hi,

I know that MediaLab supports some executable file, like visual basic. In my experiment I need subjects to run a macro as part of a sequence of tasks, where I need to collect two variables.
Is it possible to call excel to run visual basic, collect the 2 variables in the data file, and then go back to the MediaLab experiment?
I've been trying to use the "custom" item type, but it keeps sending me errors.

    Thank you very much

It gets complicated doing it this way. Can you collect your two variables using a simple HTML form, e.g., the way questions are asked on web pages? If so, then MediaLab can easily integrate those data using the custom item approach.

By now, I'm collecting the data in a .txt file, but I'm still having trouble calling the Excel file from Medialab. How can I do this?
