    Good Beginning text?

    Hi,
I'm new to the MediaLab and RT programs, but I'm working with people that use them, and I'd like to be able to start using the program in our lab too at some point. In order to do so, I need to learn the basics. I'm wondering if there's a good book out there for beginners, something like a "for dummies" book that would get me up to speed, so I can get some basics down before searching the knowledge base.

    Thanks.

Would be nice, but I don't know of any. Best way typically to get started is to run the tutorial from the Help menu. You can also follow along using the user's guide which is located in the C:\MediaLab\Help folder (or C:\DirectRT\Help) after installation. After that, I would suggest reading the intro sections of the users guides and then running through the documented samples in the Samples folder of each program. There might be some other info useful to you here:

And of course, you are always welcome to post any specific questions you have here on the support forums.

Hope that helps you get started!
