    Horizontal Scale Response? (case 15924)

    Hi there,
I am new to MediaLab and cannot seem to figure out how to change the default setting of Scale Responses from Vertical to Horizontal. In other words, I'd like participants to choose their ratings on a Likert Scale that goes from 1 to 7 from left to right, not from top to bottom. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks so much !!!

I am also having issues with this. When I enter the (w.7) parameter- or any value for width at all, my entire scale disappears except for the first option... how do I fix this?

Can you please upload a copy of the .que file giving you trouble? I'll be happy to look at it.

    Hello Jason,

Thanks for the reply, attached is the file. I have only just recently picked up using Medialab, although this software has been used in my lab in the past few years, I myself am new. I was just playing around with settings so ignore the place holders I have put into place for the text.

    Thanks again

    Alex,

You needed to use a value of .7 instead of 7 with the w parameter. I added the . in front of the 7 to the attached file. Also, if you use more than one parameter for an item, list all of the parameters inside a single set of parentheses and separate each parameter with a comma; no spaces after the commas are needed.

Give the attached .que file a try.

    Hello Jason,

This is fantastic! Thanks so much, I think the issue was creating separate parentheses for each additional parameter (I used w.7 as outlined in the MediaLab manual, but it was causing me to lose all my scale responses and I couldn't figure out why- until now).

    Cheers,
    Alex
