    Responses.xls and HTML and DirectRT

I've been running a simple study in which subjects are shown ratings (0-100) that are computed on the fly using the responses.xls file (ratings are selected from normal distributions with various parameters). Based on the ratings, subjects make decisions.

Anyway, I would like to spice this game up a bit. One way would be to present the ratings as bar graphs in html files to make things prettier (currently, the ratings are presented as standard text output). However, it doesn't seem that html files recognize values from the responses.xls file. I am working with ML 2006. I thought I read in the forums that ML 2008 would be able to incorporate responses.xls values into html files. Is this true? If so, that would be soooooo excellent!

I also read somewhere that DRT might soon use responses.xls files. That would also be wonderful!

Yes, you can do this MediaLab v2008. You can create HTML pages and call them up as custom items in your questionnaire. When doing so, you can insert variable names in the HTML file itself--just like you would if you were inserting variables from your responses.xls file into the question wording of a regular MediaLab item, e.g., <myvariable_01> etc.

DirectRT can not use a responses.xls file yet--but we are working on something like that for the next version.
