    displaying images very fast

Im trying to display a sequence of images at 40ms intervals but inbetween each image directrt seems to go to a black screen for some time is there a way to eliminate this
is it from the loading time it takes directrt to load the new image to be displayed surely there is a way to load stim into ram rather than loading from disk if that is the problem

    &exp2F06F 0,0,1 40 *
    &exp2F06F 0,0,1 40 *
    &exp2F06F 0,0,1 40 *
    &exp2F06F 0,0,1 40 *
this is what im trying to do

i have tried 0,0,0 as well and the black screen still comes up

If I understand what you are doing, then what you are seeing is the trial interval as specified in the style (.drt) file when you click Options. See

    http://www.empirisoft.com/directrt/h...l_interval.htm

A work around for this would be to place the images within a single trial with 40ms time values between each. I believe the current limit is 99 stimuli to a single trial.

    hey jarvis,
thankyou for the reply but its still not perfect
i have changed the intertrial interval to both 40ms and 0ms from the style options menu

the trial data is as follows now
    1 15 1 0 1 &exp2F14A 0,0,0 40
    1 15 1 0 1 &exp2F14A 0,0,0 40
    1 15 1 0 1 &exp2F14A 0,0,0 40
    1 15 1 0 1 &exp2F14A 0,0,0 40

ive tried 0,0,0 loc and 0,0,1
i still see that it is flicking to a black screen between the trials
ive tried the trials in consequtive order and as the same number as shown above

is there any way to remove that black screen between each stimulus

What I was suggesting actually was to put the images together within the same single trial and maintain a higher trial interval (as suggested in the links above) More like this:

    1 15 1 0 1 pic1, 0,0,0, 40, pic2, 0,0,0, 40, pic3, 0,0,0, 40, pic4, 0,0,0, 40 etc.

    ok thankyou thats working now
i would have thought having the trial number as the same it would produce the same result since it would be considered still in the same trial conceptually but nevermind
    thanks
