programming an algorithm for responses (case 27962)

    Hi,

I am trying to create a script which allows for moving from one level of stimulus to another depending on the if the participant scored a number of correct responses
    for example:
stimulus one will be presented at 700ms and if participant responds with 10/10 correct responses the presentation will be decreased by 50 ms, and if wrong goes up again by 50 ms and waits for another 10 correct responses

or if participant scores 9/10 will move one and terminate the test if specific accuracy was not reached

is there a way to do that in DirectRT ?

Thanks so much in advance for your help

    Hello,

DirectRT does not currently have a feature that allows for actions based on real-time calculations of responses. So DirectRT cannot be programmed to use information like the total number of responses made on previous trials during that DirectRT session.

However, it its possible to use the skipping and jumping features of DirectRT to program based on responses to individual trials. That is, DirectRT can move from one trial to another individual trial based just on the response to the first trial.

Take a look at these sections of the DirectRT manual for more information about the relevant features:

    Skipping: http://www.empirisoft.com/directrt/h...t_skipping.htm

    Jumping: http://www.empirisoft.com/directrt/h...rt_jumping.htm
