VLS89, did you happen to find a resolution to this issue? Just curious. If not, try moving the file "C:\DirectRT\TrackPerformance.txt" to another folder or renaming it "TrackPerformance.bak".
MZ802, did you ever find a resolution to this issue? Just curious.

Can you try v2012 on this machine and see if that resolves it? Is this Windows 7?
test reply from jarvis24
Note that this issue is fixed in DirectRT v2012 and the registry fix noted above is no longer necessary.
This, I believe, is fixed in MediaLab v2012.
May also simply be a v2010 compatibility issue with Windows 7. A number of TTL issues were resolved for Windows 7 in version 2012. Any chance you could try that on one of your machines to see if that...
Hi Neta--any luck? Just curious!
[note from moderator--we have since had user confirmation that this issue is resolved with DirectRT v2012.4.152.]
Note that DirectRT v2012.4.152 was posted as of Monday, Aug 13, 2012. Should fix this issue.
What syntax are you using to record the responses? (i.e., in the "Time" column for each trial).

There was a bug in v2012 (up to v2012.4.151) that was preventing DirectRT from creating a "Voice"...
Found the source of the problem--it's fixed in v2012.4.152 which will be posted later today.

Yes, we found the fix. You can either install the updated 2012.4.152 (or later version) or manually register the slmixerpro.ocx file by running the command on the Windows Start menu. If you don't see...
Allegra,
Take a look at this thread and see if the posted sample helps--it uses a custom item to randomize the presentation order of scale item response options but without affecting the response...
I think you can set the right click context menu option off in the Windows MediaPlayer. There may be an option also for using/not using the mouse for moviecontrol. Can you try that and see if it...
Note though that v2012 is required for this--the fix won't work on earlier versions (not intentional, it's a function of some third party software that needed to be updated in addition to our own...
This is with version 2012? In the Experiment Editor, did you try choosing "Options > Editor Font > Script > Arabic"? Then, the main MediaLab window, choosing "Preferences > Character Set > Arabic"?
You mention that MediaLab just goespurple when it attempts to launch a DirectRT session. I am aware of this issuewith the 2010.3 version and have a fix I can offer for it:

Are you using or do you have access to the Hindu version of Windows? Also--does the text appear the same way in your que and exp files--or just when p[presented during the session?

Regarding the control of blank instruction screens, it requires integer values for the time, e.g., (d1)--that may be why the trouble is occurring. If the point is to create a visual break between the...
Jillian--I noticed you had one other question in one of your support emails:
Yes, you could do this using the same principle outlined above. Using a scale response or multiple response item...
Jillian--

Were you able to find a work around? e.g., putting both outcomes in the same stim file but in varying proportions (depending on condition) and the drawing from that list randomly? Or something along...
Usually it's due to a typo or something unusual on the prior line--i.e., if it says "line 45", look at line 44 also. Usually what it means is that something is messing with the usual input of the...
Here is some sample HTML code that you could use to display the 30 second timer. Before that, you could just display a blank HTML page that does an auto-redirect after 270 seconds. i.e., an...
I would just display a background HTML region with a countdown timer--you can probably google such a code snippet. You could perhaps keep the numbers the same color as the background until there are...
Are you expecting a fairly uniform RT collection, such as 500-1000ms with some minor variation? Or something like 1000-5000ms with a relatively large variation in RTs?
Could you email me the .wav file? i.e., to support@... Asd well as the "fake" syntax file if it's different from the A1maj.mid_experiment.csv file attached above?
Narges--did you ever find a solution for this? I know a number of users found that upgrading to v2010.3 or v2012 helped with these types of video issues when using MediaLab on Windows 7. And that it...
Can you tell me exactly what version of MediaLab you have (i.e.,v20xx.x.x) and what version of theWindows Media Player you have on this machine? Also—is the small black boxexceptionally tiny? If so,...
That's tricky because DirectRT does not currently support transparency. You could possibly do this in MediaLab--do you have access to it? And what are the timing requirements--e.g., are subjects...
PPS., you could also try the .wav file version using it as a sound file instead of as a movie file, i.e., fake4! instead of _fake4.mid
PS., not sure why zipping or simply attaching the wav file would work. It may be a file size issue. Not sure, but there may be a 10mb limit on here. You could always email it as an attachment to...
A few thoughts. First--could you create two alternative versions of your .wav version? A 30 second, and a 120 second? Then run the exact same test you described above--i.e., to see if the timing...
