Keyboard cord length...

Hello There,

Our lab recently purchased one of your keyboards. We have not used it yet, but in trying to set of the computer we are using for a RT study, the USB length from the keyboard is quite small. I am curious of two things:

1. Do you discourage anyone from using a USB extension cord? Would this cancel out any timing benefit of the keyboard?

2. We are using a Dell PS2312H monitor, which has USB inputs. Would you discourage plugging the keyboard into these inputs.

Ideally, I would like to keep the desk space around the monitor clear so do not want to have to bring the computer onto the desk to use the keyboard.
Any suggestions are appreciated!
