Turning off the sound after hitting "Enter" for fill-in-the-blank (case 22424)

Hello. I've muted MediaLab sounds in the "Preferences" folder to prevent the clicking noise that accompanies each trial, but there is still a [I]ding[/I] sound when participants hit the "Enter" key for fill-in-the-blank items. I'd like to turn this off, because I'm having participants enter many fill-in-the-blank items so it quickly gets annoying.

Is there a way to turn it off, given that "Mute MediaLab sounds" doesn't work for that particular sound?

Other ideas:
(1) Can I remove the text that says "hit ENTER to continue," so then they won't know they can hit ENTER and they'll press the "Continue" key instead (which is silent)?
(2) Can I delete the sound from a system folder?

The ding for the Enter is part of Windows and not MediaLab. To control these sounds, you need to go to Control Panel > Sounds. Once there, click on the Sound tab to find the individual sounds for Windows. The "ding" in this case seems to be the one named "Default Beep."

The simplest solution here seems to be to select "No Sounds" from the Sound Scheme drop-down menu. It should still let MediaLab work but not allow for the "ding."

If you wanted to remove the "hit Enter to continue" message, you can do this by putting the attached file named substitute.txt in the same file folder as the rest of your MediaLab .que and .exp files (for more information about this feature, please refer to this section of the MediaLab manual detailing the substitute.txt feature: [url]http://www.empirisoft.com/medialab/help/preferences.htm#prefs_messages[/url])
